All my life I have known I was "part" Cherokee. It's just
something I've been told when very young and never had
any reason to doubt it. No particulars, no details, just
knew that Great or possibly Great Great Grandma
something-or-other was a quarter, or was it one-half,
Cherokee?
I have learned I am not alone in my ignorance. Many
Waller researchers have told me they don't know any more
than I do, but they too are under the impression they have
Cherokee ancestors.
Perhaps it's time we did something about it. I was recently
contacted by two Waller researchers who seem to have
gotten into the subject. Trudy Lusk
or Silla Jaynes.
I'll stay in touch with Trudy and Silla and publish anything
they find interesting. Unfortunately, I am not going to be
able to participate in the research. The amount of time
required on this website continues to grow. If I don't
become more disciplined I won't be doing a good job on
anything.
That said: I hope some of you will get involved. It's a
fascinating subject and I feel could become a very
interesting hobby.
