Created: 1769 from portions of Colleton and Berkeley Counties as one of seven original judicial districts.
Split in 1798 to form: Charleston and Colleton Districts.


Dawson, Sarah Ida Fowler Morgan (1842 - 1909)

Biographical Information:
Sarah Ida Fowler Morgan Dawson was born in New Orleans, the daughter of Thomas Gibbes and Sarah Waller Fowler Morgan. Married Captain Francis Warrington Dawson, 1874; two children. She wrote for her husband's news paper, the Charleston News and Courier, under the pen names "Mr. Fowler" and "Feu Follet." Moved to Paris after her husband's death and died there.
