Return to Berkshire Co, England
Return to Yorkshire Co, England
Return to Clark Co, Ohio

My notes show that Thomas TINDALL, was born, c. 1777, in Yorkshire, England. That he married Sarah WALLER, at a date unknown.Sarah was born, c. 1793, supposedly in Berkshire. They departed for America, sometime after 1819.They seem to have "dropped" into Clark Co., Ohio, "from out of nowhere", as one researcher in Ohio, told me, that was vaguely familiar with them while researching another connecting line. She said that it appeared to her that Thomas had a good bit of money, for he immediately bought a sizable tract of land in Clark Co., known as the "Tindall Tract", and that he appears to have made one or more trips back to England.I've never tried to substantiate these revelations, however.

Sarah WALLER TINDALL, died 3 June 1856, and is buried in the old Methodist Church Cemetery in South Charleston, Clark Co., Ohio. As to Thomas's death and burial, I know nothing.

From the union, one son (and undoubtedly others) was born
Charles TINDALL b.c. 1819, Berkshire, Eng.
mar. 21 November 1839, Julia A. WHITE

d. c. 1899., place unknown

Wife: Julia A. WHITE,was born near Selma, Clark Co., Ohio on 4 March 1820, d/o Willaim and Eleanor MARSHALL WHITE. Julia d. 8 February 1879 and is buried at Selma, Ohio.

From this union, there were seven children:
1. Elizabeth b. 14 September 1840
2. William
3. John
4. Thomas
5. Fred
6. Margaret Tindall Miller
7. Nancy Tindall Harrison

Elizabeth was the oldest, The others are not in order that I know of. The sisters of Elizabeth moved West (Illinois?); Fred Tindall lived in Selma, Clark Co., Ohio, and Thomas Tindall lived in Cedarville, Greene Co., Ohio. No other information is available to me at this time. I seem to recall that Thomas TINDALL (Sr) moved to Illinois after the death of Sarah, his wife, but that needs to be verified....
